This week all eyes are on the NAMM show in Anaheim, California. The show will begin at 10am on January 24th and will run until Jan 27th, closing its doors at 5pm. The show is not simply a DJ gear show, it is everything Music related. NAMM Stands for National Association of Music Merchants and as such is a place where the music industry converges to geek out over new products and to learn from workshops and all about the retail game.
As of today, there are 1685 exhibitors registered, from drums, to guitars, to digital DJ equipment, it’s all there. Some of the exhibitors include Vestax, Stanton, Tannoy, Sony, Sennheiser, Reloop, Rane, Numark, KRK, Allen & Heath, Akai, Alesis, and even Serato Video. There is plenty to keep every tech nerd happy, but in keeping with their previous history we do not see Native Instruments at this show.

New Traktor Gear

Despite the lack of appearance from NI at the show, we are still guaranteed to see many third party controllers, some amazing new mixers and I would imagine some funky new iOS programs that will work with Traktor. According to DJ Tech Tools, NI still seems to release something cool around the same time as the NAMM show, so sit tight for that information.

NAMM 2013 Coverage

Traktor Tips can not make it to the show this year, but luckily our good friends over at Digital DJ Tips will be covering the show and uploading all related information to their NAMM2013 Page.

In the meantime, I will be keeping my eyes on NI to see if they shock us all with a new release.

Future Music Magazine made this great preview for this years show…… check it!

Your turn If you are heading to the show let us know what you’re most excited to check out there – which stands will you be heading to first? And what are your thoughts on Native Instruments not making an appearance?
