In the ever-changing world of technology and music, companies are coming up with new ideas to innovate and change the landscape even more. Thankfully we are all different and all of us have different tastes in things we like and ways we enjoy our lives. This is no different when it comes to Music Collections, which brings me to the newest offering from Amazon.
Amazon Autorip
With the explosion of ‘cloud’ storage everyone is trying to get in on the act; Apple has iCloud, people have been using Dropbox for some time now, Box is another one too, Google has it’s ‘Drive’, the list goes on. Amazon has it’s Amazon Cloud Drive. It seems that Amazon are trying to promote this cloud service by introducing a new incentive that they are calling AutoRip.
As many people still like to collect the hard copy CD music albums along with their Album Art and Music Sleeves, there is still a market for physical music, but in order to promote sales of CD’s on Amazon, Amazon are now giving away free mp3 versions of all CD’s purchased through Amazon. I’m sure this isn’t for everyone, but there are definitely people out there that like to keep things simple and if Amazon reduces the task of uploading everything to your computer once you have received CD then I am sure it will attract many people.
It works for Vinyl too!
Yes, now here’s the really good news. Any Vinyl purchases you make on Amazon also come with the free MP3 version. This is fantastic, as ripping vinyl to MP3 can be a very laborious task and also the process can create a track that is very difficult to beat-grid.
Go and check out what Vinyl is available on Amazon and start your collection today.
