This week Keith Lancaster supplies Traktor Tips with a varied guest mix. Rooted in House, but tickling a few genres along the way, the mix eases us in with a hip-hop flavour, later pumping hard and en route visits the depths of the deep and sexy stuff. Ending on a classic from silicone soul, something this mix will entertain you and keep engaged, enjoy.
Keith Lancaster
Keith has been closely involved with DJing, clubbing and the house music scene in general for over 15 years. Going to legendary parties and clubs in London in the 90s, like Sign Of The Times, Flying, Love Ranch, The Milk Bar and Full Circle, Keith developed a passion for house music that has continued to this day. Learning the hard way, Keith started out with a pair of Technics 1210 turntables and a crate of records and started DJing at friends’ parties, then playing at bars and clubs in Bristol and London.
Keith’s sets vary from the soulful, funkier side of deep house and nu-disco to the full-on energy of upfront house, sometimes bringing a slightly techier sound with a harder edge to drive the music forward. He likes to mix things up and layer tracks on top of each other to create a seamless sound and musical experience. He also draws on his extensive knowledge of the genre to drop classic tracks that defined a generation into his sets.
