Traktor Pro 2.6 available for download

The 2.6 update for Traktor is now available for download in your service centre. There are a couple of things to note; most importantly not to accidentally overwrite your current effect settings. The download wont automatically give you the new effects, you have to install them. There are two ways to do this, one way is to load in the TSI setting for the effects, which will overwrite all your effect settings. The second way is to manually import them in the preferences. Xone K2 Midi Map – by DJ Animine

A couple of months ago I bought the Allen & Heath Xone K2 controller as addition to my mobile setup during travelling. I wanted a small and compact controller that would still be able to do the job.

At first I thought of mapping it for 4 decks as I usually work with a 4 deck setup on my DJM800 with Denon SC2000 controllers and a NI Maschine controller for the FX, but after looking into the Xone K2 documentation it meant I would need to work with the layering and I didn’t want to make the mapping to complex. Musically, certain keys work well with others and knowing which tracks compliment each other can … Continue reading Harmonic Mixing

Conant Gardens Maschine Expansion

For those Traktor users that have a Maschine, you are most likely using it to produce a few beats and loops here and there and not just simply as a Traktor Midi Controller.  If that is the case I wanted to let you know of a new expansion pack just released by Native Instruments. The Conant Gardens pack contains some sweet hip hop sounds produced by Amp Fiddler.  There are some nice trickling melodies in there with some crisp sounding one shots.  You can download the kit for $59.00 over at Native Instruments.   Continue reading Conant Gardens Maschine Expansion

The Remix Decks

I have huge respect for Ean Golden and his Tech Tools crew, I am a follower of their blogs and posts and always like their videos.  It seems to me that their musical genre is more based on the hip-hop, dub step side of life and this video outlining their use suggestions for Traktors Remix Decks highlights this fact. I think the video is excellent and shows off some great talents and tech know-how, but it seems like the tasks he explains in this video are so much of an effort to get things set up and going, especially with … Continue reading The Remix Decks
