Traktor Pro 2.6 available for download

The 2.6 update for Traktor is now available for download in your service centre. There are a couple of things to note; most importantly not to accidentally overwrite your current effect settings. The download wont automatically give you the new effects, you have to install them. There are two ways to do this, one way is to load in the TSI setting for the effects, which will overwrite all your effect settings. The second way is to manually import them in the preferences. More details can be found in the knowledge base, but if you still wish to know a … Continue reading Traktor Pro 2.6 available for download

Pioneer CDJ integration with Traktor – Plug & Play

Since the new release of Traktor 2.5.1 DJ’s have been able to connect their CDJ 900’s or CDJ 2000’s directly to Traktor without the need for an Audio Interface. The video below from Pioneer is doing the rounds right now in DJ land, creating a buzz for the two main players in the DJ world. I think this could be the final nail in the coffin for Serato. Raine carried Serato for some time there and still does to a very large extent, but this integration with CDJ’s is a blessing for many. The hassle of cable switching and hovering … Continue reading Pioneer CDJ integration with Traktor – Plug & Play

The Remix Decks

I have huge respect for Ean Golden and his Tech Tools crew, I am a follower of their blogs and posts and always like their videos.  It seems to me that their musical genre is more based on the hip-hop, dub step side of life and this video outlining their use suggestions for Traktors Remix Decks highlights this fact. I think the video is excellent and shows off some great talents and tech know-how, but it seems like the tasks he explains in this video are so much of an effort to get things set up and going, especially with … Continue reading The Remix Decks

What’s new in Traktor 2.5.1 Update

There are some great features in the update, but a few of the ones that really interest me are in the Track Deck section, Timecode issues and preferences. “Synchronization no longer ignores second and following grid markers” sound like a great fix for those issues when a track has multiple BPMs. (I still need to test this out) I often had issues with Traktor randomly switching from Absolute to Relative mode, looks like this has been fixed. Thank you Native Instruments. Another really cool feature, which caused me to upgrade, was highlighted to me by the amazing Dj Tech Tools – The … Continue reading What’s new in Traktor 2.5.1 Update

DDJ ERGO-K Controller from Pioneer for Traktor

From my viewpoint, I see Pioneer as the world leaders for CDJ manufacturing, they have always been the industry standard for CDJ’s and from my experienced coined the name CDJ.  Similarly to how people call their mp3 players iPods even if it’s not an iPod; many people now call their DJ CD players, CDJ’s.  1994 saw the first real CDJ product, the CDJ-500. From this point onwards Pioneer went from strength to strength and produced the most commonplace CDJ’s the CDJ1000.  Most clubs will be sporting the CDJ 1000s alongside a pair of ‘Technics’ Vinyl turntables.  These particular products have … Continue reading DDJ ERGO-K Controller from Pioneer for Traktor
