What’s new in Traktor 2.5.1 Update

There are some great features in the update, but a few of the ones that really interest me are in the Track Deck section, Timecode issues and preferences. “Synchronization no longer ignores second and following grid markers” sound like a great fix for those issues when a track has multiple BPMs. (I still need to test this out) I often had issues with Traktor randomly switching from Absolute to Relative mode, looks like this has been fixed. Thank you Native Instruments. Another really cool feature, which caused me to upgrade, was highlighted to me by the amazing Dj Tech Tools – The … Continue reading What’s new in Traktor 2.5.1 Update

DDJ ERGO-K Controller from Pioneer for Traktor

From my viewpoint, I see Pioneer as the world leaders for CDJ manufacturing, they have always been the industry standard for CDJ’s and from my experienced coined the name CDJ.  Similarly to how people call their mp3 players iPods even if it’s not an iPod; many people now call their DJ CD players, CDJ’s.  1994 saw the first real CDJ product, the CDJ-500. From this point onwards Pioneer went from strength to strength and produced the most commonplace CDJ’s the CDJ1000.  Most clubs will be sporting the CDJ 1000s alongside a pair of ‘Technics’ Vinyl turntables.  These particular products have … Continue reading DDJ ERGO-K Controller from Pioneer for Traktor

Midi Mapping in Traktor

With so many options available to us for control methods of Traktor, I can imagine that unless you are using the standard controllers with the included standard tsi files, then there isn’t 2 people out there with the exact same controller settings. Since the industry has moved on from the simplest raw art form of turntablism, we have been introduced to a new era of DJing. The introduction of ‘Beat-gridding’ removed the need for timing skills (the original essence of DJ’ing), … Continue reading Midi Mapping in Traktor

Friday Guest Mix – Subb-an Radio One

Although this isn’t exactly a Traktor Tips Mix as such, it is an exceptional mix from a very dear friend of mine.  For these reasons, I will skip the rules of it’s entry on this occasion.  I think you lot will allow me this one time……? Known to the masses as Subb-an, he has been playing the circuit for that last number of years, but really hitting the big time in the last 2 years.  Playing some of the best gigs in the world, including Fabric, Sonar Festival and the Beatport stage at Detroit Electronic Music Festival alongside the likes … Continue reading Friday Guest Mix – Subb-an Radio One
