This week Traktor Tip’s reader Mark H asks:

“Not sure if you can help with this but i am thinking of getting a couple of F1’s to go with my S2. The problem i am having is finding any information on how to integrate them or use them with my S2.  I am told by some; I need to be switching to midi mode or buy an S4 and others saying this is not the case, stick with the S2,  so at the moment i am totally confused. Your Questions: Can I use the Audio 2 for Playing Turntables?

“I am an ageing DJ who used to DJ with turntables. I am getting back into DJ’ing now my kids have grown up and was trying to start by mixing with mp3 files. I bought a Hercules Air deck system, but had trouble with distortion and good sound quality through monitor speakers. I read about not having enough outputs and that a Traktor Audio 2 would give me another 2 and get rid of any problems. Have I done the right thing? I can still use it to run 2 vinyl turntables through and record live mixes on my laptop. Or so I believe? Any help would be appreciated.” Continue reading Your Questions: Can I use the Audio 2 for Playing Turntables?

Your Questions: Some Songs won’t Stay in Beat, what do I do?

Traktor Tips reader Jack Dyche writes:

“With some songs (it’s mostly older songs, written in the 70’s and 80’s, no matter how well I beatmatch them, either by ear, by looking at the bpm and changing it or even hitting the sync button, some tracks just won’t stay in sync. What happens is the beatgrid lines (those light grey lines that are supposed to line up with each beat) just move away from the beat as the song progresses, then they may move back into the beat, then away from it again.”

Below you can see what Jack means and I am sure many of you have seen this issue. Continue reading “Your Questions: Some Songs won’t Stay in Beat, what do I do?”
