The New Maschine Generation – Official

Just hours after my initial post, Native Instruments release their new Maschine Generation video staring Jeremy Ellis.  Check out the skills…… Their release date is October 1st – there is a black and a white version of both Maschine and Mashine Mikro, plus some fancy new hardware including stands and different coloured faceplates for the Maschine only. I like this new feature – New Browser sample preview mode: Easily scroll through the browser list and pre-hear samples without loading them. The New Maschine Mk2

Taking the information from Native Instruments forum I present to you the New Maschine – rumoured to be launched September……(Edited: Release date is October 1st – New video can be seen here)  As no official press release as been seen yet from NI it maybe that the source has leaked this ahead of time.  I am unable to confirm the truth of its existence but the information you see below seems pretty legit to me.  I take no responsibility for the inaccuracy of the information listed below.  At first glance however, it appears to have been made with the Traktor … Continue reading The New Maschine Mk2

Conant Gardens Maschine Expansion

For those Traktor users that have a Maschine, you are most likely using it to produce a few beats and loops here and there and not just simply as a Traktor Midi Controller.  If that is the case I wanted to let you know of a new expansion pack just released by Native Instruments. The Conant Gardens pack contains some sweet hip hop sounds produced by Amp Fiddler.  There are some nice trickling melodies in there with some crisp sounding one shots.  You can download the kit for $59.00 over at Native Instruments.   Continue reading Conant Gardens Maschine Expansion

DDJ ERGO-K Controller from Pioneer for Traktor

From my viewpoint, I see Pioneer as the world leaders for CDJ manufacturing, they have always been the industry standard for CDJ’s and from my experienced coined the name CDJ.  Similarly to how people call their mp3 players iPods even if it’s not an iPod; many people now call their DJ CD players, CDJ’s.  1994 saw the first real CDJ product, the CDJ-500. From this point onwards Pioneer went from strength to strength and produced the most commonplace CDJ’s the CDJ1000.  Most clubs will be sporting the CDJ 1000s alongside a pair of ‘Technics’ Vinyl turntables.  These particular products have … Continue reading DDJ ERGO-K Controller from Pioneer for Traktor

Midi Mapping in Traktor

With so many options available to us for control methods of Traktor, I can imagine that unless you are using the standard controllers with the included standard tsi files, then there isn’t 2 people out there with the exact same controller settings. This is the beauty of Traktor; the individuality that it can provide all of the DJ’s using the software. Since the industry has moved on from the simplest raw art form of turntablism, we have been introduced to a new era of DJing. The introduction of ‘Beat-gridding’ removed the need for timing skills (the original essence of DJ’ing), … Continue reading Midi Mapping in Traktor

CNTRL:R Midi Controller for Traktor

Livid Instruments have produced a good looking midi controller in collaboration with the DJ Legend Richie Hawtin! Just looking at the layout of the controls and buttons, seems to show a well thought out, useful design. The CNTRL:R is designed with Ableton in mind, with completely customizable midi the possibilities are endless, but if you want a simple plug and play, a Traktor mapping is available and included. According to RA, Livid Instruments are geared more towards the computer hacker geek, as they include script that you can customize, but the CNTR:R does come with midi editing software, for those … Continue reading CNTRL:R Midi Controller for Traktor

Traktor 2.5

EDIT – correction: The good news: Native instruments contacted me today to explain that all updates within a major version (e.g. 2.x) are absolutely free of charge for registered users, you´ll be able to download the newest version (2.5) in your Service Center application from May 30th onwards – you won´t have to purchase anything at all. AMAZING! So most of us probably already know of the impending release of Traktor 2.5, but how many of you are going to make this leap? It all looks very cool.  The new addition of ‘remix decks’ which seems to be an embellishment of the previous ‘sample decks’ … Continue reading Traktor 2.5
